Welcome
Welcome to Professor Crossley's homepage for the A&AE 490S "Satellite
Design" course. This course is an additional development of Purdue University's
Center for Satellite Engineering. The purpose of this course is to offer
senior-level undergraduate students the opportunity to participate in a
design study of a satellite system. Students will work in teams to
define the overall architecture of a spacecraft and to perform some of
the systems engineering / integration tasks. Individual students
on the teams also will act as subsystems specialists (e.g. structures,
propulsion, attitude control, etc.) in the same way that students act as
disciplinary specialists in the existing senior design courses. Each
student team will prepare a written design proposal at the end of the semester.
The student teams will present a mission definition / system requirements
review in week 3 or 4 of the semester, a system definition / conceptual
design review around week 9 or 10 of the semester, and a preliminary design
review during the last week of the semester.
This course will be offered for the first time during the Spring 2002
semester to senior-level undergraduates at Purdue University.
This web-site is always being updated and modified to meet the needs
